The STAR Program continues to provide much-needed property tax relief to New York State’s homeowners. However, there have been some changes in how certain homeowners will apply for STAR, and in how they receive their STAR benefit. The Town of Clifton is comprised of Cranberry Lake, Newton Falls - including Windfall - and a small portion of Star Lake. The Town itself has much to offer. Located in the beautiful Adirondacks, the Town is surrounded by rivers, lakes and mountains for your enjoyment. This also brings many recreational opportunities: Camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, kayaking and canoeing, hunting, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling and cross country skiing are only a few activities you can enjoy in this area. Make use of the Clifton Community Library, located within the Town Hall in Cranberry Lake. Enjoy camping at the NYS Cranberry Lake Campsite, fishing & boating in Cranberry Lake and Newton Falls. You can also try your swing at the Clifton Fine Golf Course - a joint activity of the Towns of Clifton and Fine, located in Star Lake. Delight in ongoing events at the Clifton Fine Arena, also located in Star Lake. Added to this is the Clifton Fine Hospital and the Clifton Fine School.
